1. Who do you work with?

I work with individuals, couples and families. When I work with couples, I sometimes work with one or both of the partners individually and alternate the individual sessions with couples’ sessions.

I work with clients who are suffering from problems including depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, abuse, relationship issues, postpartum depression, life stress, career-related stress, parenting issues and addictions.

2. Why should I choose you?

For the past 16 years I have been helping individuals, couples and families heal themselves, their relationships and their childhood hurts. I facilitate this by being compassionate, creating a safe environment and caring about my clients.

No one can guarantee that you will resolve all of your issues or ‘fix’ your relationship. However, I promise that I will do everything I can to help you achieve your goals.

3. How long will it take to get better?

The sooner you are open to learning about yourself, willing to take personal responsibility for your feelings and behavior, truly value and take care of yourself consistently, set loving boundaries and not take others’ behavior personally, the faster you will move on a path towards health and wholeness. I can help you learn how to do this.

4. Do you accept insurance?

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my services are usually reimbursable if you have out-of-network insurance benefits. I will provide you with a receipt for each session which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

I am presently in-network with the following insurance companies: Aetna, Value Options and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Traditional Plan.

5. How long does it take to get an appointment?

At this time I have openings for new clients.

6. What if my partner doesn’t want to join me in counseling?

Come in alone. You don’t need your partner to do your own healing work or to change your relationship. When one partner changes the relationship changes. By taking better care of yourself you can become a better role model for your partner. You never know how your partner will respond to your positive changes.

7. Can you ‘fix’ our relationship?

Only you and your partner can fix your relationship. I can provide you with tools, feedback and guidance. It is up to the two of you to decide how committed you are to doing whatever it takes.

8. What is the first session like?

Your initial session is a consultation. During this session I will complete any paperwork, do an initial assessment and have you identify your frustrations and goals. The rest of the session is an opportunity to experience how I would work with you during counseling sessions. At the end of the session we will review what you learned and discuss what your next steps are. If, at that time, you believe that I can help you we will schedule your next session.

9. How soon will I know if working with you will be helpful?

You will know after our first session together whether I am the right person to work with. Does my philosophy resonate with you? Does it feel like I ‘get’ you? Do you feel the skills you learned about will help you achieve your goals? Trust your intuition.
