If you’re considering individual therapy, you’re probably struggling with some very difficult emotions, such as anxiety or depression. You may be facing challenging situations that you haven’t been able to overcome. At times you feel unlovable. These might be new issues or ones you’ve been dealing with for many years.
More than anything, you want relief from these painful feelings. You need practical ways to solve your problems. You’ve been looking for someone who can help you find your way through the heartache. If this is your first time in therapy, you’re probably unsure how it all works. If you’ve been in therapy before, you’re wondering: what’s going to be different this time?
My Approach to Individual Therapy
What if I told you that feelings aren’t facts? That you can change your feelings by changing your thoughts?
During our first session, you’ll start to notice what you’re telling yourself and how your thoughts are causing your feelings. In just a short amount of time, you can learn how to control your feelings rather than allowing them to control you.
The steps to doing this are simple. Changing your patterns is not easy. That’s where I come in.
Typically, I’ll meet with you on a weekly or biweekly basis. Sessions are experiential. You’re doing the inner work while I’m guiding you past the obstacles in your way. By doing this work, you’ll become strong enough to make the changes you want.
And your learning doesn’t begin and end in your sessions with me. There are (optional) at-home practices I will share with you to complement your visits with me.
You don’t have to go it alone. Let me be there for you.
